The 5 Reasons I Love to Write

[space size=10]
1. WRITING ALLOWS ME TO SHARE MY LIFE EXPERIENCES

Whether penning a book or commenting on social media, writing is a great way for me to share quirks of my life’s most memorable experiences with readers. When followers see my comments on Facebook, they become more aware of my stories and there is a greater chance that they might pick up one of my books down the road. You can bet some of what I’ve shared online will appear in a novel I’m writing.
2. WRITING ALLOWS ME TO CONNECT WITH OTHER PEOPLE

There's a great little community in the writing world. This creative outlet has given me so many great opportunities to connect and partner with other ingenious women, whether it's by cross-promoting, featuring, or just lending a word of encouragement. I love to hear from readers about how my books may have touched or inspired them in some way!
3. WRITING IS FREE THERAPY FOR MY BRAINnelles2

Technically it isn't "free" - time is money - but the hours I spend writing are well worth the psychotic investment that it provides for my brain. Writing allows me to expend aggression, create new worlds and destroy diseases, invent impossible situations, all of which keep readers coming back. My husband said something a few months ago that continues to stick with me. Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.
4. WRITING ALLOWS MY READERS TO GET TO KNOW ME

I was surprised to read Marie Force’s 2015 reader survey a few months ago and see how many readers love an author’s personal social media post. But it makes sense - I love reading about the normal day-to-day lives of the people I follow, too. Novel writing and Facebook posts allow me to connect with readers; it feels more personal than a quick "about me" section. I also blog frequently here where I share tidbits of my stories, post upcoming book releases, and host other awesome authors.
5. WRITING GAVE BACK MY IDENTITY

I’m sure many of you will agree that once you have kids, you’ve suddenly lost your identity. You’ve become “Suzie’s mom or dad”, if you’re lucky. But mostly you’ll be known as “Hey there.” I went through a period of angst which lasted nearly 15 years. During that time my kids started school and sports, our contracting business doubled, and my husband’s hobby of training sheep herding border collies for competition shot to the National level. Seems like everyone had something to do but me! I wanted my own thing and to be known as a success. Wah-la – enter writing. Started as a suggestion by my dear husband who knew I loved to write, I finally got my identity back.

Monica Beggs is more than the hottest porn star out on DVD--she's Finn Daniel's next assignment.

Lights. Camera. Lube?

Famous porn star Monica Beggs has wrapped up another grueling on-location movie shoot when the Colombian cartel attempts to kidnap her. Their guns are as real as the price on her pretty head.

Former Special Ops and present day surfer, Finn Daniels recognizes a lady in distress when he sees one—especially when it’s his adult film crush being hustled out the door. He’s no longer in the business of busting up the underworld, but that doesn’t deflect his moral compass.

In a fast-paced adventure--over land, sea, and air--playing it hot and heavy can only lead them straight into action!

Excerpt

Once in a while actors in the industry hooked-up and marriages bloomed, but those were rare instances. In those cases, both parties were aware of their partner’s job. Those in the business understood how intimate feelings never entered a filmed scene.

At least with Moni they didn’t.

In the past, boyfriends accused her of cheating while she worked in front of the camera. In each circumstance, the insecure man thought she’d enjoyed herself a little too much. Most of the time she could barely tolerate a co-stars’ megalomaniac ego.

Shit…there was a reason she’d won so many AVN Awards.

I’m a damn good actress!

The very thing that had men attracted to her eventually drove them away. Each and every time.
