I have never read a novel quite like this one!  Kelly Bowen's heroines are always a bit unusual and a little radical for the times. Ivory is definitely that! [br]  [br]

5 Reasons to Admire Miss Ivory Moore!

1. At ease with redressing dead Earls found tied to virginal beds.

2. Perfectly happy with ordering a Duke around.

3. First name basis with dockside cutthroats.

4. Need a scandal hidden? Ivory's your girl!

5. She's got massive Lady Balls! [br]  [br]

Max was fun, but I fell for Ivory in this one! She's snarky, logical and holds back no punches! She knows who she is and what she's capable of and doesn't apologize for it!

I had to roll my eyes at Captain Maximus Harcourt, Duke of Alderidge. How he expected to leave England for ten years and come back to the same sister I don't know! Kudos go out to his sister, though! When she wants adventure she sure as hell gets it!! This story was intense! There are several side characters in this one that need to be fleshed out and have their own story and I have no doubt that they will get them!

There was romance, of course and it was surprising how Max fell hard for Ivory and she still kept him distant but she has her reasons. The adventure and action kept me in the story the entire time. the relationship between Max and Ivory was interesting to say the least but it was the mystery and action that thrived for me.

Kelly Bowen's first entry in her Season for Scandal series was off the chart interesting!

Synopsis

Captain Maximus Harcourt, the unconventional tenth Duke of Alderidge, can deal with tropical storms, raging seas, and the fiercest of pirates. But he's returned home from his latest voyage to find a naked earl—quite inconveniently deceased—tied to his missing sister's bed. And he has only one place to turn. Now he's at the mercy of the captivating Miss Ivory Moore of Chegarre & Associates, known throughout London for smoothing over the most dire of scandals.

Miss Moore treats the crisis as though it were no more serious than a cup of spilt tea on an expensive rug. As though this sort of thing happened on the job every day. Max has never in all his life met a woman with such nerve. Her dark eyes are too wide, her mouth is too full, her cheekbones too sharp. Yet together, she's somehow...flawless. It's just like his love for her, imperfect, unexpected—yet absolutely true.
